|
The Bloomington Good Times Chorus put on a spectacular
Cabaret show / Halloween costume party on the evening of Oct 30, 2004.

the Good Times Chorus.
Read about it in the November Newsletter
or check out pictures of the evening. [coming soon]

| Guest Night -- April 27 |
Apr 2004 |
|
The Bloomington Good Times Chorus will be hosting a
Guest Night on the evening of April 27, 2004 at 7:30 PM at the
Bloomington Eagles Club. (On the corner of Old Shakopee and Old Cedar)
Join us for an evening of singing and appreciation of this art form
we've come to love. There will be plenty of singing, along with a short
performance by the chorus and quartets.
Guests will also be offered a rare opportunity: to join the Good
Times Chorus and several other Barbershop chapters in the metro
area in singing the National Anthem at the Twins vs. Mariners game on
May 12.

| The show is a big success |
Sep 2003 |
|
Our second show with the Minnetonka Clippers turned out quite well.
One mass chorus, seven quartets, and two 400+ crowds came together for two
enjoyable performances.
The featured quartet this year was Midnite Watchmen,
a quartet from Wisconsin who won District competition in 2002. Other
quartets included PRISM, the Cooper High Notes (a high school quartet),
Random Sample, the Minnesota Go-4s, Western Union, and the Clipp-Tones.
Peruse some photos of the event in the Picture
Gallery.

| Welcome, Al! |
May 2003 |
|
Our search for a new director comes to a close. After a short
conversation with Al Matchinsky, Jerry convinced him to take over the
musical leadership of the Bloomington chapter once again.
Al is no stranger to us, having been at the helm for several years
during the '90s. His knowledge of barbershop music is extensive, and his
passion for it is no secret either.
He has been singing with the Great Northern Union chorus and is putting
together yet another quartet.
Please welcome Al again and expect Carol to visit often enough to keep
us in line. She has offered to give us a little coaching at least until
the house is sold and she gets moved to Marshall, Minnesota. (We could
paint some polka dots on her house)
With everyone's support we can continue to improve and still have fun
singing together.
Welcome back, Al!

| Comedy reigns in Bloomington |
May 2003 |
|
Grandma's Bow Ties earned the first place trophy on May 6th with a fast
paced routine that was almost too fast for Jim Richards. With a fill-in
tenor -- Jim Angel -- Bob Griffith and Doc Olson, they kept the judges and
audience laughing, which was the whole point of the evening.
Congratulations!
The Crazy Eights tried to influence the judges with the feminine wiles
of their wives, but they were not to be swayed, and so the comedy title
changed hands this year.

| Division Contest results are in |
May 2003 |
|
Congratulations to the Good Times Chorus for a superb performance at
the Division Contest! Not only did we come away with the title for best
small chorus (never mind that we were the only one in that category), but
we scored high enough to qualify for the District Contest, which will be
held this year in Rochester on Oct 24-26.

|
| Carol will leave us soon |
Apr 2003 |
|
Carol announced that she will be moving to Marshall shortly, which
means we'll need to find someone to take over as director soon.
Thanks for all your help and hard work, Carol, and best of luck in
whatever the future brings you!
